Show Recap: A Great Time in Griffin, GA!

May 4, 2024

May the 4th be with you! It was certainly with us as we made our way down to Griffin, GA to play at the fabulous Griffin Opera House. While we've played on the Southside of Atlanta several times, we'd never been to Griffin, so it was a great adventure.

The venue was incredible! It has been around since the late 1800's, and some signatures remain on the wall from 1906. We really enjoyed being a part of its history.

The lobby enticed us with an old-timey box office and concession stand, as well as a poster of The Spirit of Rush. Very cool. Inside, a giant chandelier hung over the audience. The stage curved out in front and gave the band plenty of room to run around.

As the audience trickled in, we peeked out from behind the backstage curtain and saw lots of Rush shirts! A good sign indeed. When showtime came, those fans showed their love of Rush as they air-drummed and sang every song in our two-hour set (set list below). As the night went on they cheered louder, giving the band a ton of energy in a fantastic feedback loop. Check it out!

We absolutely loved connecting with the audience, and they gave us that love back with two standing ovations! Afterwards, we had the pleasure of chatting with several folks. They had greatly enjoyed the show, and we expressed our gratitude to them. Some had walked in skeptical, which we get a lot, but they walked out happy which is our aim. We look forward to our return to this beautiful old opera house! It's amazing that music is still being played there. Rush on, everyone!
